How To Remove Scars, Discoloration, Deep Lines and Tattoos

This is something almost everyone is interested in as our technology advances and we can do so much more these days, and do it easier and safer as well.

One of the go to treatments in 2016 has been micro-needling. Just like lasers, micro-needling works with the skin's natural ability to repair itself. Micro-needling creates micro-channels within your skin without damage to the surrounding tissue layers. This causes the skin to regenerate collagen and repair the skin in a way that is smoother and more supple.

Lasers can be limited in their usefulness in some patient types. The advantage of micro-needling is that people of all skin types can effectively have this treatment throughout the year. It does not matter how dark one's skin tone is, micro-needling can provide great results for people with all skin types. This treatment option takes advantage of the skin's natural healing ability to safely deliver consistent results to patients with little-to-no downtime.

Now the new micro-needling tattoo removal can be achieved with three to four treatments and has become much more affordable compared to ten to fourteen painful laser treatments. Tattoos normally fade slowly over time. The major cause of this fading process is the body's healing response induced by the needle punctures and the presence of the dye. The body sends out immune cells called macrophages to the site, and they attempt to “eat” the dye.

After the initial damage caused by the tattoo needle heals, the body's healing response slows down, and it makes very little effort to remove the dye molecules. Restarting the healing process through micro needling “reminds” the body that the dye is there, and it resumes a vigorous attempt to remove the dye. Most people may need several sessions to remove a tattoo. There will be a little swelling and some discomfort in the treated area after each procedure.

Needling has risen in popularity and is now commonly used for treatments such as scar revision, hyperpigmentation, improving deep wrinkles and removing tattoos. The rise in the acceptance of microneedling among dermatological and surgical practices may be attributed to its ease-of-use, versatility, overall safety and consistently satisfactory results.
