Looking Younger: Understanding Fillers

The human mind will stay young even though our bodies will age physically. We may feel young on the inside but our bodies may not reflect the same feeling. This is the reason why neuromodulators, such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and dermal fillers are so valuable in the aesthetics industry. Neuromodulators like these can correct laxity of the face and loss of volume. These ultimately rejuvenate your face making you look younger.

There are different fillers that are available and knowledge of them are important so that you may be able to choose the right one. Fillers are either hyaluronic acid based or non-hyaluronic. Hyaluronic fillers you may be familiar with are Restylane and Juvederm. Some examples of non-hyaluronic fillers are Radiesse, Bellafill and Sculptra.

Knowing the appropriate areas for these fillers are also very important.

Hyaluronic Fillers

Restylane is recommended for areas under the eye. In comparison, Juvederm is not advised to be used under the eye but intended for lip injections. Restylane Silk is great for the areas around the lips. For the cheek and naso-labial areas, it is recommended to use Restylane Lyft and Defyne. Voluma is hyaluronic acid that lasts for a very long time, which is also used for the naso-labial and cheek areas. For areas around the mouth, a soft Juvederm Volbella is recommended.

Non-Hyaluronic Fillers

Sculptra and Radiesse are a couple of examples of non-hyaluronic fillers. Sculptra is recommended very highly for lip dystrophy and facial palsy, which are commonly found among HIV patients. These treatments are for gradual moisturizing and volume. It is recommended that treatments are initiated every two months and should last five years.

For the treatment of soft tissue, tracking, tumors, vocal cord inflammation, oral and maxillofacial defects, it is advised to use Radiesse. Since 2006, Radiesse has been approved for the treatment of wrinkles, naso-labial folds, chins, dimples, and lip therapy.

In conclusion, it is always advised that fillers need to be injected and performed by an experienced doctor. These doctors will have a complete and vast knowledge of anatomy. These professionals will know the danger zones to stay away from and make sure there are no complications.
