The Importance Of Treating Fine Lines Early

Fine lines and wrinkles are a natural occurrence that may appear in people of all skin types, ethnicities, or genders and as time goes by, their effects become more noticeable and worrisome to individuals. Many people use the terms fine lines and wrinkles interchangeably, however there are some major differences between the two. Fine lines are small and shallow and indicate the beginning stages of the skin’s aging process. Wrinkles are much deeper and form when fine lines are not treated early on.
Fine lines and wrinkles both occur with the natural aging process, damage from the sun, general muscle movement, a person’s genetic makeup, having fairer skin, stress, smoking or other skin conditions that can cause scarring.
Fine lines tend to either be static or dynamic. Dynamic facial lines are produced by the repeated actions of underlying muscles and can be seen when frowning, smiling, squinting or exhibiting general muscle movements. Static facial lines are always present. They typically occur when a person has a history of increased sun exposure, are smokers, or with the natural aging process.
Fine lines develop due to an irregular thickening of the dermis and the decrease of water held in the epidermis as well, but the natural loss of collagen and elastin in the skin that occurs as person ages.
Common forms of fine lines are crow’s feet around the eyes, worry lines on the forehead, and glabellar lines that are common in between the eyebrows. These different kinds of lines tend to initially be dynamic lines but, over time if left untreated, they can become static lines.
There is always time to treat fine lines before they become full-blown wrinkles and getting injectables or succumbing to needles is not always the answer or even an option for most people.
Having the right skincare regimen that nourishes your skin, repairs UV damage from the sun, and contains vitamins and antioxidants that induce the skin’s collagen and elastin production, is the proper place to start when wanting to treat fine lines and preventing wrinkles.
Furthermore, always applying sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher protects the skin against damaging UVA and UVB sun rays.
