Blepharoplasty: Make My Eyes Look Better

Over time, eyelids of both men and women can develop a tired look. This is due to excess skin and sometimes fullness or “bags” that develop on the upper and lower lids. It makes patients look and feel tired. Removal of the excess skin of the upper lids and of the fullness in the lower lids can be corrected with eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty.
Blepharoplasty is surgery that removes excess skin from the upper eyelids along with a small amount of fat. For the lower lids, it is primarily fatty tissue removed with a small amount of skin. Patients have some bruising, and sutures that are removed the following week. There is minimal discomfort afterwards, but it is important to take it easy. It is wise to have an eye exam prior to any eye surgery. Results are visible right away and look natural.
TRL laser by Sciton is also an option to resurface the eyelid skin. It does not remove tissue, but tightens it and improves the overall appearance of the eyelids. Laser does not remove fat but can improve the lower lids as well. The best option for you depends on how much excess skin you have and the condition of your skin.
Don’t forget the eyebrows, eyelashes and eyelid skin. Use essential eyebrow solution (EES) for your brows to thicken them and keep them healthy. Use Latisse for your eyelashes nightly to lengthen and thicken them. Use a high quality eye cream twice a day to keep the eyelid skin healthy, get rid of fine lines and add moisture. The highest quality products (Revision skin care or Neocutis) should be purchased through a physician’s office.
