Chiropractic Fills the Gap In Healthcare

Chiropractic is a unique and essential branch of health care. There is no other health field like it. For more than 100 years chiropractic has been utilized by all walks of life.

Prior to the discovery of antibiotics, people primarily used chiropractic for treatment of many conditions and diseases, not just back pain. It's only been in the past 30 years that chiropractic has been placed into the category of back pain specialists.

Chiropractic is considered a holistic form of health care. This means we treat the entire person and all aspects of that person. The education to obtain a doctor of chiropractic degree is very extensive. The aspiring chiropractor must first earn a four-year degree including, all the basic sciences for pre-medical curriculum. Graduate/professional school is typically more class hours than the average medical school. The curriculum includes nutrition, differential diagnosis, radiology, physical therapy and biomechanics. We leave pharmacology up to the experts, your medical doctor.

Chiropractic is the third largest health care field in the world. Most patients see their chiropractor more frequently then their medical doctor, therefore, chiropractors must be well trained in recognizing a potential medical problem.

Many patients use their chiropractors as their gate keeper for their health care management. It is important to understand that your chiropractor does not replace your medical doctor. Chiropractors require you to have a primary medical doctor.

Chiropractors have referral relationships with other medical professionals. Chiropractors take you through a step-by-step process of examination, x-rays (if needed), full diagnostic work up, home exercises and ergonomic education. Your progress is monitored closely and your primary care physician will enjoy up-to-date reports.

Most patients come to chiropractors when everything else has failed and they are still in pain. They are less active due to the pain and are on a downward spiral. Their quality of life worsens each day. People will become less active as a result of their discomfort and not be aware of it. They compensate a little at a time until one day they can't even turn their heads to back up their car.

When patients complete their chiropractic treatment most are able to enjoy a much higher quality of life. The most common comment chiropractors receive is “I wish I had come to see you years ago.” So, if you are looking to improve your lifestyle and quality of living, you owe it to yourself to call a chiropractor for a consultation.
