Love Your Heart

“Happy Heart Month!” You are probably wondering why this is being written in March. That’s because you should “love your heart” 365 days of the year.

Here’s why: heart disease is still the number one killer of Americans. Heart disease is still the number one killer of women. Did you know that the cost for heart disease and related issues in the U.S. is over $4 billion annually? And most importantly heart disease is preventable – it all depends on the choices you make.

We read about it all the time – quit smoking, exercise at least 30 minutes a day, eat a diet rich in vegetables, fish and not so much on red meat. That being said, heart attacks still happen.

Do you remember the story about the “French Paradox” – drinking a glass of red wine daily can help protect your heart? There is more and more evidence that the compounds in red grapes can, in fact, provide a level of protection against heart disease.

So should you go out and chug a bottle of red wine? Probably not. But taking a standardized grape seed extract will provide the benefits needed to treat high cholesterol, high blood pressure and treat a variety of circulatory symptoms including coronary heart disease.

Research is showing that extracts from grape seeds contain powerful antioxidants known as proanthocyanidins and research is showing that it may help prevent heart disease, diabetes and cataracts. Studies also show that grape seed extract can lower blood pressure and cholesterol and reduce inflammation.

While drinking grape juice is beneficial, the juice is very high in sugar (sugar is one of the major cause of cellular inflammation). Taking a consistent, pharmaceutical grape seed extract is not only cost effective, but smart.

Prevention versus treating symptoms is key. There is a product available called Provex CV, which was scientifically developed by the same researcher/doctor who put the world on aspirin over 30 years ago and the main ingredients are grape seed and grape skin extracts.

Loving your heart has never been so easy.
