Life Is Beautiful and Short

What is cancer trying to tell us? On the physical, emotional and spiritual level cancer is waking us up, causing us to pay attention. The foods we eat, the air we breathe, soil and water all can have a significant factor to our risk for developing this disease.

On an emotional level we know that there is a connection between our mind and body. Our inner dialogue includes stress, anger and hatred, which we transmit to every cell in our body. Our immune cells are always listening to the conversation we have with ourselves.

On a spiritual level, the messages are always reminding us that life is delicate, beautiful and short. Cancer reminds us to live in the moment, the present time. Cancer reminds us to free ourselves, our heart from resentments, regrets, anger and hostility. Thoughts define our minds and the molecules of our body in the field of awareness of spirit. To discover our spiritual awareness is to discover the source of energy, creativity and healing.

No one chooses to become ill consciously. As we look back we can see the challenges of our lives that caused us to respond to life the ways that we chose. When we think of the possibilities of death each day, each day that we live takes on a new meaning, a new beginning. Goals become more important to us, and our grievances fade away. People who have recovered from cancer may find that they leave jobs they found dissatisfying and pursue their lifelong dreams and reunite with their families.

After a person has been diagnosed with cancer, or any life threatening disease, they are told to reduce stress to a manageable level. It is important to regain some emotional balance. When a person feels a semblance of balance they have an opportunity to go into a deeper emotional and spiritual meaning of the illness.

Try these steps in the healing process

1. Meditation, prayer and visualization techniques.

2. Emotional expression.

3. Family support.

4. Self-empowering knowledge.

Meditation is a very important tool used to calm the mind and heal the body. The mind is the place in which you can create your life, the place to which you return to for rest, solitude and regeneration. Your mind is your home, your safe haven; no one can get there except you. Through your mind you can undo obstacles and create opportunities.
