Low Thyroid Or Type 2 Diabetic?

At its worst, women suffering with low thyroid problems are sick and tired or being sick and tired. Despite normal labs. Type 2 diabetes can take decades off a person's life, but almost always reduces the quality of life for diabetic patients and their loved ones. These deadly diseases in some cases may be reversed, allowing patients to reduce or eliminate their need for drugs, insulin injections, lose weight, sleep better, regain their libido, stop brain fog and reclaim their health.

Hypothyroidism, or low thyroid, is just as bad if not worse than the diabetic patients. A lot of these patients are told their lab values are actually normal, but they still have their ongoing symptoms weight gain, constipation, anxiety, sleeplessness, hair loss, being cold all the time, just to name a few. It is known that a high percentage of these patients actually have an immune system issue versus a thyroid problem; in fact 90% of these patients actually have this problem versus an actual thyroid issue, but are still being treated as a thyroid patient.

Because diabetes, despite drug therapy, can lead to heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, liver failure, blindness and many other disastrous health consequences, proper and comprehensive treatment of the disease is vital. But, an actual diagnosis, other than your “A1C is high” is needed to get to the cause of the diabetes.

Low Thyroid and Diabetes typically worsens over some holidays, as food choices and family/travel stress can fuel the underlying causes of the disease. Comprehensive and cutting-edge diagnostic testing is available that gets to the root cause of why diabetics can no longer regulate their blood sugar and thyroid patients have surges of symptoms.

Proper testing allows doctors to customize eating programs that make it easy for patients to navigate their nutrition during the holidays and for the rest of their lives.

Most patients who come to our office already understand that the current model of treatment is one drug after another in an attempt to reduce their symptoms weight gain, insomnia, depression, blood sugar issues, moodiness etc. They are tired, and often frustrated of going to the doctor and adding one medication after another. This clinical model has been proven not to work, as diabetes is a chronic degenerative disease, versus an acute disease. And thyroid patients are typically all given the same hormone and either the dosage can't be corrected or they still have symptoms despite normal labs.

Many thyroid patients don't know they there is a 90% chance their problem is an immune system issue versus a thyroid issue. When treated for the correct issue, they can make incredible gains.

Many diabetics don't know that diabetes may be able to be reversed, so they often suffer and get worse as they go through life. The term “reversal” is used when people can go off medication but still need to engage in a lifestyle program in order to stay off of those medications.

Fortunately, solutions are available that allow diabetics to reverse their disease rather than use drugs to just treat the symptoms. Our clinic encourages patients to take control and reverse their diabetes before it causes problems that cannot be reversed.

Your disease process; whether diabetes or hypothyroidism doesn't break for holidays and vacations. At some point a decision needs to take place and action needs to be put into motion to reverse the disease and have your body work as intended vs. having symptoms be covered up with medications.
