Springtime Change In Season and Feelings

As springtime comes upon us we are reminded this is the season of change and transition from the sleepy, hibernating hold of winter into the energizing and awakening energy of Spring. This change isn't only happening to our natural surroundings; indeed it is a change that happens within us as well.

For example, once fall rolls around we tend to get cozy at home and the kitchen is filled with the aromas of soups and stews. Something in us craves warmth and heavier meals as opposed to the light lunches and salads of summer. Spring is a season of change and as our energy returns, we collectively feel the need to purge.

This purge can be a simple “spring cleaning” tossing out the old and bringing in the new. Something as simple as moving furniture around or lighting a sage stick can do the trick to make your home feel lighter.

Some people start to analyze their relationships and love status. It is not uncommon for life coaches and psychics to see an increase in their clientele during the springtime as relationship statuses hang precariously as one partner decides the fate of the relationship.

Of course, it is not a bad thing. It is all part of the natural rhythm of life and if we learn to trust the process and our feelings, we will and can make it out okay. That being said, you may ask, “What can I do to maintain my inner peace as I navigate through the transition of spring?”

Here are three simple practices to implement now so you can enjoy the beauty of spring

1. Journal Your Thoughts Your emotions may be on high alert these months and seem erratic. Write it all down and you will begin to understand your thoughts and where you are heading.

2. Yoga and Meditation Simple practices such as yoga and meditation can help you feel grounded and connected to your spirit so despite the changes, you will maintain your inner peace.

3. Exercise/Get out In Nature As your thoughts begin to overtake your mind, remind yourself to move. In moving the physical body, you give your mental body a rest. Schedule 20-30 minutes a day to take a walk, do some gardening or a nice hike. Being out in nature is the best thing at this moment.

Enjoy Spring!
