True Health and Beauty

You can go from a sluggish style of living to vigorous enlightenment by changing your perception of what society calls “beauty” – realizing that to be beautiful in all aspects of life, one must first be in good health. This includes the six main components of health, which are: physical, mental/intellectual, spiritual, social, environmental and emotional health.

We get sidetracked by individual beliefs of where beauty stands, and we tend to forget where it truly begins, and that’s from within. Just like your car, it must have gas and oil, as well as, maintenance – otherwise it won’t make it to the corner or last very long. It is the same for our bodies and health. To feel beautiful, we must fuel it with the right things such as: nutrition, check-ups, exercise, and, yes, doctors.

Many of us have a preference of how to go about it. One must have a balanced approach because too much, or too little, of anything isn’t usually the right formula.

The most important place to start is nutrition. When you start eating on a conscious level, you start realizing that it is not just about satisfying your hunger, but nurturing your well being.

Statistics say, “Americans eat less than the recommended amounts of vegetables, fruits, whole-grains, dairy products, and oils.”

When you truly focus on your health and what it means, and you start putting two and two together, you realize that “you are what you eat”. So, it’s a good idea to follow the advice of your nutritionist, or ask your doctor what would work best for you.

When you consume the right fruits, vegetables, and/or meats, changes to, and results for, your body can be huge and amazing. When you grab some fast food for a quick bite to fulfill a temporary need you might notice some extra pounds, or a breakout on your face. This is why nutrition is so important.

For example, spinach is a healthy green vegetable that’s loaded with beneficial nutrients like folate, iron, and vitamins A and C, which promote good health.  But then, surprisingly people consume things that are not good for their health.

You might be surprised at the variety of nutrients we have and what we choose to eat as well as how it affects us from the inside out. The bottom line is that what we consume has a considerable effect on our health and beauty, so choose wisely and love yourself from the inside out.
