Raindrop Therapy Technique

Everyone wants to relax and live a balanced life. It feels good, and with less stress, most of the systems of the body feel better and perform better.

By combining several holistic techniques into the Raindrop Technique as described below, a synergistic effect can be created. The three modalities that combine to form Raindrop Technique are

  • Aromatherapy Raindrop Technique uses seven single essential oils, two blends and one essential oil massage blend during the session. It is congruent with the French application of aromatherapy where essential oils are applied “neat” (undiluted) to the body.

  • Vita Flex technique Vita Flex was brought to the US in the 1920s by Stanley Burroughs. It is an ancient Tibetan methodology meaning “vitality through the reflexes”. Its theory is based on the fact that slight pressure applied to the body creates an electric charge that is therapeutic to the body. This is known as piezoelectric.

  • Feather Stroking – This is similar to a massage term technique called effleurage. But this technique was actually termed by the Native American Indians.

Together, these techniques are used by a facilitator to bring balance and transformation to a patient, on a physical and emotional level. It was developed by Dr. Gary Young in the 1980's, with a Lakota Indian medicine man named Wallace Black Elk.

How It Works

The oils are dispensed in little drops from a height of about six inches above the back, which is where Raindrop Technique gets its name. They are then massaged along the spine and back muscles. They are also applied to the feet. The whole process takes about an hour and may continue to work in the body for up to one week following a session, with possible realignment and bodily adjustment taking place during this time.

Essential Oils

  • Valor (Rosewood oil, spruce oil, frankincense oil and blue tansy oil) Aroma is very soothing and calming. Great for those with overactive stressful days.

  • Oregano High in phenols. Sharp herbaceous aroma creates a sense of emotional safety and security.

  • Thyme One of the strongest antioxidants in the world. It may support immune, respiratory, digestive, nervous systems. Mentally stimulating, it helps with concentration. It's uplifting when fatigued or recovering from illness.

  • Basil Antispasmodic (relaxes tense muscles), and helps one re-energize.

  • Cypress Alleviates discomforts associated with women's menstrual cycle. It's beneficial for oily or troubled skin, and it helps us accept change by allowing us to feel more secure with ourselves.

  • Wintergreen Mentally stimulating, and associates with many of our senses smell, taste, touch, and hearing

  • Marjoram Relaxes tense muscles, supports nervous and cardiovascular systems, good for nervous tension.

  • Peppermint Supports digestive, liver and respiratory systems. The scent is fresh and cool, calming the mind and eliminating fear of the unknown.

  • Aroma Seiz (Basil, Marjoram, Lavender, Cypress and Peppermint oils) Great for soothing muscle discomfort after exercise or at the end of a trying day
