Boost Your Bust Line and Confidence

Do you wish your breasts were larger, fuller or more shapely? Then breast augmentation surgery may be the right choice for you. Breast augmentation (also called mammaplasty) is a cosmetic procedure that uses implants to enlarge and shape the breasts.

Breast augmentation may be a good option for you if you consider your breasts to be too small or underdeveloped, believe your figure is out of proportion, feel you have limited choices of flattering fashions or your breasts have asymmetry (vary in size or shape from one another).

Breast Augmentation Surgery

The technique used for your surgery depends not only on your surgeon’s preferences, but also on your desired results. The incision is small and is usually made in one of three locations: underneath the breasts just above the crease, around the lower edge of the areola, or within the armpit. Once the incision is made, a pocket is created into which the implant is inserted. This pocket is made either directly behind the breast tissue or beneath the pectoral musclelocate – below the breast tissue and above the chest wall.

Considerations For a Lift

Over the years, factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and the force of gravity take their toll on a woman’s breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag. Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts.

The Lift

Techniques vary, but the most common breast lift procedure involves an anchor-shaped incision following the natural contour of the breast. The incision outlines the area from which breast skin will be removed and defines the new location for the nipple. When the excess skin has been removed, the nipple and areola are moved to the higher position. The skin surrounding the areola is then brought down together to reshape the breast.

Getting Back To Normal

Healing is a gradual process. Although you may be up and about in a day or two, don’t plan on returning to work for a week or more, depending on how you feel. The operation should not affect your future ability to breastfeed, since your milk ducts and nipples will be left intact. And in most cases, nipple sensation is not immediately or permanently affected.

Your New Look

If you’re like most women who have these procedures, you’ll be very pleased with the results. An augmentation, lift, or combination of both procedures, will mean you will no longer need padded bras or bustlifting undergarments.

Your new, natural curves will let you wear a greater variety of fashions with confidence – whether you’re on the beach or in the boardroom.
